Services

The light is onA Service is only as good as the people who provide it. At Reid's we translate our years of training and experience into conscientious service, in which sincere sympathy and helpfulness are not measured by dollars and cents. It is our privilege to assist and advise each family of the necessary details for a meaningful funeral or memorial service.

I have always been a dedicated family man that understands commitment. I am proud to be the second generation to carry on the Reid’s tradition of excellence always placing the families I serve as a priority.

I will honor the Reid’s Tradition of service by doing what's right for your family and going beyond what is expected.

This is a Funeral Home
Where families, relatives, friends, and neighbors gather
to commemorate the life and death of a loved one.
Many are reunited, and memories—some sad, some joyful—
are enshrined in their hearts; but most of all love prevails
simply by your presence. Most importantly, your prayers,
thoughts and your being here provide love, support,
comfort, and hope to the bereaved family.
Our funeral home and its caring staff are here to serve you
as we would be served during that period in which
God has called a loved one home for eternal rest.

Cremation

Since early times, cremation has been practiced throughout the world, with various religions and nations developing their own unique cremation customs. However, one constant among religions and nations practicing the cremation has been the belief that cremation is a meaningful form of memorialization. With this in mind Reid's Funeral Chapel is proud to offer a variety of service options that are rich in tradition and designed as a meaningful memorial to the life of the individual.

Reid's Funeral Chapel recognizes that individuality is important in memorialization...no two people are alike...so we offer a variety of services to meet a variety of tastes and needs.

Reid's Funeral Chapel can fulfill the primary goal of memorialization - to address the innate human spirit, which says, "I want to be remembered."

Grief Support Services

This year marks the 45th anniversary of Reid's Funeral Chapel providing funeral service to the people of Greene, Marble Rock and the surrounding areas. Throughout the years, Reid’s has stayed in step with the changing trends and attitudes of the public it serves.

Today, people are asking more questions about death and funeral services. Therefore we have developed a Community Awareness Program involving several segments in which family members and individuals may learn about the values of funeral service, death education, grief and bereavement support.

Grief Support Library

I have a collection of books, pamphlets, and other materials related to different forms of grief meeting the needs of every age group. The library has over 86 books along with scores of brochures. The books, pamphlets, and brochures may be checked out and returned within a reasonable time. The library is located in the conference room adjacent to the main chapel area.

Comfort Bear"C" Bear (a.k.a. Comfort Bear)

"C Bear is an honored member of our staff here at Reid's Funeral Chapel and holds a very important position with the young people visiting the chapel. He was born in Greene, Iowa at the home of and under the care of Avis Reser. "C" Bear is much like his cousin "Q" Bear who can be found at our public school giving support and encouragement to the children of the area. "C" Bear can be found in the sitting room adjacent to the main chapel area waiting to give a hug to a child or even an adult with a sad or broken heart.
